Dewatering pumps sometimes stop working right. Here are easy tips to help you fix common issues and keep your site running.
If the pump won’t turn on, check the power plug, circuit breaker, and fuses. Make sure it's properly connected and the switch isn’t tripped.
If the pump runs but doesn’t pump water, it could be because the suction is clogged, there's an air leak, or the pump isn’t primed.
A slow or shaky water flow may be due to clogs, air leaks, wrong pump size, or a worn impeller. Clean the inlet/outlet and check valves.
Loud noise or shaking means something’s wrong—maybe running dry or a loose part. Turn off the pump and check the impeller and look for debris or damage.
Pump getting too hot? It might be running for too long, in hot weather, or not in enough water. Give it breaks, improve airflow, or move it to a cooler spot.
If water isn’t being drawn properly, there could be leaks or a clogged hose. Check connections and if needed change the check valve.
